I'm a mixed media abstract artist, mother, hairdresser and photographer from South Australia.

Art has always always played a part in my life, throughout my schooling years and beyond. I have always enjoyed painting, drawing, and creating. I find inspiration in the everyday life, including adventure walks, holiday travels and visiting my parents farm.

 

You will notice that nature has a big influence on the way I select colours, textures and patterns. I draw from all the landscapes and beauty that surround me. Creating art is my way of finding that special place that we all need, offering moments of quiet contemplation -my kind of meditation. The presence of beauty can elevate our spirits and nourish the soul and I believe this is important - now more than ever- The journey then becomes one or reference, grace and gentleness that sets free a creative fluency between myself and the canvas.

 

I use acrylics in order to work quickly and intuitively. I'm continually excited by colour combinations and fascinated with all sorts of mediums which include; oil stick, pencil, ink, pastels, pen & watercolours. I do love collage and dipping my paint brush in coffee and tea and experimenting making my own natural pigments. Spontaneous mark making's often occur with organic textures in my work, from movements using a variety of tools and techniques, I like to invite the observer into my creative world.
