PAINTING COMMISSIONS

Thank you for your interest in a custom painting!
Commissions are so exciting because they combine your tastes & needs with my artistic expression into a totally new and unique work of art. I love to collaborate with my collectors to create a one-of-a-kind painting that compliments your home and brings you joy each day!

P R O C E S S

We begin by deciding what size painting you’d like, then move into determining the motif and colour palette, guided by any colour swatches and inspiration images you may have pinned to Pinterest.

After we decide all the details, I paint two/three small sketches to work out the general composition and colour placement.
Once you approve one of the sketch's, I complete the final piece.

Commissions are completed within 4-6 weeks. All commissions require a 20% non-refundable deposit before work begins.

And please allow two weeks to get the piece framed depending on how busy my framer is.

(All work is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.)

P R I C I N G

Commission pricing is based on the size of the painting, amount of time spent and materials used.

Each painting will be painted on canvas that is 1.5 deep unless otherwise specified.

Q. I’m so excited!, my new artwork has arrived – what now?

You’re now the proud owner of an original Jayne Sims artwork, so care must be taken always.

Here are some tips below:

-Please don’t use water or cleaning products to clean artworks, only use a soft dry cloth to remove dust and dirt.

Please don’t hang canvases in direct sunlight, they will cause all sorts of problems.

Q. What mediums do you use for your art?

I use a combination of different types of mediums and depending on what I use on the particular artwork which may include watercolours, acrylics, natural pigments sometimes oil pastels, fine art pens, black ink, posca markers & natural dyes.

Each piece is hand brushed with a professional varnish to protect the pieces, (normally two coats)

Canvas: My originals are painted on quality stretched canvas and framed in South Australia to the highest quality.
